Life is a funny thing sometimes. The road to becoming a media composer has been, I guess you could call it, the scenic route. From a young age, I have been a fan of all sorts of film and cinema. After showing faint interest in learning the piano, I eventually started learning how to play guitar at 16 years old. This eventually led me to achieving a Masters in Music (Performance) for classical guitar. Though studying the great library of classical music was stoking the fires of composition, it would still be a while before that path opens up.

After graduating from Stony Brook University in Long Island, New York, I moved to the west coast, San Diego, with my soon to be wife to start our lives together. While continuing as a private guitar instructor, I launched a successful youtube channel, which recently surpassed 100k subscribers. This has allowed me to cultivate great and lasting friendships and industry connections. But, the desire to transition into media composition still lingered underneath all those blessings.

During Covid, my family and I decided it was in our best interests to move back to the east coast. So after 14 years, our first house, our marriage, and two beautiful daughters, we relocated to the wonderful city of Tampa, FL. After getting settled in our new home and the new studio up and running, I knew it was time to make the shift into media composition. I spent six months preparing for this new endeavor. Being a content creator, I was cognizant of many talented educators in the space.

It was at this time I enrolled in a six month intensive, online composing program, along with 19 other students from around the world. I was looking for that deep dive into the programming and production standards of the industry. Just as important, I was able to meet a number of incredibly talented musicians and eventually formed Valknut Music Production (VMP) with my new friends and fellow Momentum graduates - Eric Sierka and David Bart. Immediately after completing the Momentum program, VMP was asked by Marc Jovani to assist with the scoring of My Husband's Ex (Directed by Doug Campbell, Lead Composer: Marc Jovani) for which we provided many cues for.

I look forward to working on a long list of projects, meeting as many of you as possible and hopefully, having the honor of creating the perfect music for your film, tv show, commercial, video game, etc…
